Debt relief may be available for select students of California Culinary Academy (San Francisco) who are in default on CCA student loans.
If you attended California Culinary Academy in San Francisco (CCA) between September 28, 2003 and October 8, 2008 and you are in default on any loan you took out to attend the school, you may be eligible to receive debt relief assistance from the CCA Class Action Services Fund. NO PROMISES. But, as part of the settlement in the school fraud case, Amador v. CCA, the Services Fund was established to provide legal help to former CCA students who still owe money on loans. It's been 11 years and demand for those services has now dropped off. The Trustee of the Fund is now therefore considering using this money to purchase loans that are in default, if they can be purchased cheaply, as allowed by the terms of the settlement.
